If you suffer from acne and you are looking for a chemical free alternative to the over the counter acne treatment products available at your local drug store, trying acne home cures is a great option. When you use home acne cures to treat your breakouts you know the exact contents of the ingredients you are putting on your face and often you can save a good amount of money.

Acne Home Cure Number One: Oatmeal

Who knew that the hot cereal you eat for breakfast each morning would prove to be such a wonderful home acne cure. Oatmeal is great for soaking up excess oil and it is also good for drawing out oil and dirt from deep below the surface of your skin. There are several ways to enjoy the benefits of oatmeal as a home acne cure.

The first and most simple way to use oatmeal as a home acne cure is to mix it with just enough water to form a thick paste. Simply apply it to your face as a mask and let it dry for about ten minutes. Once the time has elapsed wash the oatmeal away with warm water. You can even rub it in circles as you are rinsing your face. This will produce an exfoliating effect that can help to remove dead skin cells from the surface of your face.

Another great way to use oatmeal as a home acne cure is to use it to treat body acne. Simply place a half cup of oatmeal in a blender or food processor until it is a powdery consistency. Add the powdered oatmeal to a warm bath and soak away acne on hard to reach places such as your back.

Acne Home Cure Number Two: Cider Vinegar

Cider vinegar has many cleansing properties. When applied to your acne prone skin, it can help to dry up oil without stripping your skin of all the oil it needs. It also contains many bacteria fighting properties that get below the skin to fight acne germs before they cause a pimple on the surface of your skin. One of the best things about this home acne cure is the price. Not only is apple cider vinegar relatively inexpensive, one small bottle will last you a long time, because for this remedy to be effective, you need to dilute the vinegar with water. Simply add one part vinegar to six parts water and dab some of the solution on a clean cotton ball. Rub the vinegar water on your face and let it penetrate for ten minutes before you rinse it away.

Acne Home Cure Number Three: Almonds

Not only do almonds taste wonderful, they also make a great home acne cure. To get the most acne fighting benefits from almonds, you need to grind them in a food processor until they are the consistency of sand. Then take the ground almonds and apply them to a wet face. When you scrub your face with ground almonds you get a great exfoliating wash with the benefit of adding moisture to your skin in the form of almond oil.

Acne Home Cure Number Three: Baking Soda

Mix some baking soda and water together to form a paste. Use this paste as a gentle facial cleanser - gently scrub your skin with the baking soda paste. This is known for exfoliating the skin and removing dead skin cells. This paste is not meant as a mask, so do not leave it to dry on your face.
