Social anxiety is a condition where a person has extreme fears of social situations such as introducing themselves to a new class and even making a call to a stranger. Their fear of embarrassing themselves is so strong that they will try and avoid these situations at all costs.

Agoraphobes usually experience Panic symptoms when they are confronted with their fear. When an attack occurs a sufferer might experience a number of symptoms including a tightness in the chest and throat, shaking and palpitations.
A sufferer’s condition can quickly deteriorate and they might experience more frightening symptoms such as hyperventilation and depersonalization. In extreme cases people with agoraphobia stay at home for months at a time without stepping out. You can imagine how difficult life can be.
Daily routine is restricted and most sufferers feel alone and highly depressed. Relationships are extremely hard to make and there can seem like no hope for a career or family in the future. Studies have shown that depressive disorders develop much more easily in those with agoraphobia. In male sufferers, alcohol is often used to escape from panic symptoms and depression.
Although some anxiety disorders have only recently been discovered there is anxiety help available. Medication is available as well as therapies such as CBT and alternative therapies such as hypnosis. People who are overcoming with such disorders find lifestyle changes a great aid to overall recovery. Also self help techniques including EFT, visualization and relaxation techniques very helpful.
Some agoraphobes may avoid going to see a doctor for anxiety help because they simply can’t do it. This is a catch 22 problem that doesn’t have much of a solution.
