How I Treated Vaginal Yeast Infection – No More Terrible Burning, Swelling, and Itching
Monday, June 15th, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedYeast is a type of fungus and likes to live in a moist, dark and warm place such as vagina. The amount of yeast in the vagina is usually very small. You suffer from a vaginal yeast infection when the bacteria cannot control the number of yeast cells in the vagina. Lots of women experience a vaginal yeast infection.
Nearly two years ago, I became one of those who suffered with a vaginal yeast infection. After none of the treatments suggested by a doctor failed me, I found something that worked for me. This is the story.
One day, while sitting on a sofa, I felt extremely itchy around my vagina. There were other symptoms such as redness, swelling and buring. I had never developed a vaginal yeast infection, but I heard about the symptoms. I was pretty confident that I developed a vaginal yeast infection. I rushed to the drug store and got some creams and tablets. The medicine gave me some relief, but it was just short term comfort.
I decided to see a doctor. She checked the swelling and discharge. She told me that she needed to take some samples from my vagina to see if I really have a yeast infection. Some of STC (sexually transmitted disease) may give same kinds of symptoms, accoring to the doctor. She returned to the room and said that I developed a yeast infection based on the lab results.
I asked her how I got a yeast infection. She told me that there are several things that cause a vaginal yeast infection. They are hormonal changes during the periods, diseases like AIDS/HIV, taking medicines like antibiotics and birth control pills, and pregnancy. I was surprised that things like stress, lack of sleep and poor eating habits can lead to vaginal yeast infection.
The doctor told me that I needed to come and see her before using over-the-counter creams and tablets. Seven out of ten women who use over-the-counter creams or tablets actually have yeast infection. Taking over-the-counte drugs when you have no infection, you may be creating super yeast. That may make it harder to cure the real infection when you really have it.
The doctor said that there are things you can do to prevent the symptoms from becoming worse. Any scented hygene items such as tampons, pads and bubble path products must not be used. She told me to change tampons and pads as often as I can during the menstruation. I had to stay away from any clothes or underwear that are made of synthetic fibers. After workout, change clothes immediately.
She recommended some medications and I was taking them daily as instructed. I was feeling pretty good after starting to take them. I mean less itching and less pain. I was very disspointed when all the symptoms returned.
I did not want to return to the doctor’s office this time. I was determined to do some studies about a vaginal yeast infection myself. I spend lots of time online and I found the posting in the women’s health forum. The posting was all about curing yeast infection in a natural way.
I was very skeptical. How can those simple natural treatment cure my infection after expensive medications failed me? To be honest, I was desparate and I decided to go for it. Within two days, I had a great relief. In two weeks, almost all the symptoms like itching and soreness were gone.
I strongly suggest you to visit yeast infection cure site if you are searching for yeast infection treatment or vaginal yeast infection cure.
