If you are starting a new business then a successful, well designed website is imperative to your business launch. More and more business is now being done on the internet from the comfort of your own home. However, it is important to design a website that is eye catching, simple to use and to the point.

Too many people make the mistake of having ‘busy’ sites. These sites include too many photos, too much irrelevant text, loud backgrounds and too many advertising banners. A busy website, that takes too long to download, will inevitably lose you custom.

A well thought out and designed site should have an attractive background colour, be easy to read and contain crisp and short sentences and captions. These will engage the reader to read more and not leave your site.

Your site should be constantly renewed with new, fresh content as many people will visit your site, time and time again, and ensure the content of your site answers all of your visitor’s questions.

Inserting flash into your site will make the site more visually pleasing but may well take longer to download. You can also insert roll over text, insert spinning images and other special effects for example. Videos can also be uploaded but remember visitors can be be put off when videos download too slowly.

Being able to browse through the site easily is imperative. Navigation bars can be downloaded or customized buttons used. Remember to check all links after you have inserted any buttons to ensure they all lead to the relevant chosen page.

Finally add contact details. A well designed and marketed website can bring you volumes of traffic so ensure all contact details are added and correct. Again check all external and internal links, email addresses and contact numbers to avoid loss of custom.
