Millions of people suffer from eating disorders, and most likely, the most common one is binge eating, or overeating. This disorder can lead to malnutrition, not due to the lack of nutrients, but through the overload of unhealthy fats, salt, chemicals, and cholesterol.

If you have are craving to munch a lot if you are faced with a problem or if you see photos of your favorite dish even if you are full, then you may be at the onset of binge eating. Here are ways on how to resist overeating.

1. Visit a nutritionist, and have him formulate a diet that helps you achieve your fitness goal. Write this plan down and strictly follow it.

2. Post a photo or a poster of a model or movie star whom you want your physique to be similar with. This will keep you inspired to eat less.

3. Exercise regularly. Exercising at least an hour a day not only gets your body in excellent shape. The time you spend working out is better spent on improving your body instead of spending it sitting on the couch munching pieces of cake or drinking cola. It is best to enroll in a gym where seeing exercise machines, barbells, and members doing their best to get fit forces you to exercise.

4. Take small meals frequently. This may sound ironic, but this is a healthy way of eating. When you eat small meals at frequent intervals, your digestive system becomes more efficient. You won’t feel hungry for quite some time, preventing you from binging on food.

5. Drink lots of fluids, especially every morning after getting out of bed, every time you long for a snack, and immediately after a meal. A lot of people think they are hungry when in fact, they are actually thirsty.

6. If you really need to snack on something, consume healthy foods. For instance, if you wish for something sweet, grab an apple or an orange instead of that a fat-filled cake. If you want something crunchy, munch on some celery sticks instead of those potato chips.
