If you choose not to wear glasses or contacts for this problem, a lot of people are now having Lasik surgery done to fix their nearsighted problem.

You may need to visit an optometrist if you injure your eye. This is quite common for those that play contact sports in addition to sports that use things that could hit the eye, such as a tennis ball or golf ball. Eyes are quite delicate and can become easily cut or injured if something hits it, so it is always smart to have it examined if something hits it. Larger problmes such as a detached retina or scratched cornea may lead to lifelong vision problems if not taken cared of immediately.

Whenever your eyesight is not clear, whether it comes on slowly with age or happens right after having your eye hit by an object, it is imperative to have an optometrist exam it to rule out any other large issues and to fix the problem at hand. Eyes need assistance also.
